[the last time they'd had any real one-on-one talk, it had been a chance meeting more than anything else; a run-in based on circumstance.
that's not the case today though. today, alvin's going out of his way to actually find guy—though he doesn't seem any more serious than usual for the time being.]
Hey, you got a minute? [though maybe the implication is there that the conversation's going to have more serious undertones than just a casual chat.]

[this trial was worst than the last.
lara and luke had both been people he liked well enough, spoke to decently often in the last couple of days—and generally got along with, lara's aggressive pinning him to the wall when they first met aside. but they'd been left with an awful choice and a split vote, and then to top it off, elizabeth having to do the honors just seemed like worst.
he likes these people, he doesn't want this for them.
and he can't even hold it against luke that he was a traitor in hiding his status as staff, because... shit happens. he'd betrayed too many people and he's been betrayed well before this whole screwed up situation fell in alvin's lap. but neither of them had been responsible for killing rayfa and it still sucks that this is how it's all happening.
the second he has the opportunity, while others are reeling and checking on elizabeth, alvin slips out of the room quietly, stepping well away from where the day's events took place—
and slamming his fist into the wall next to the door to the commissary.]
Dammit... [his fist lingers there, and he sucks in a breath through his teeth. he's frustrated and has no idea how to cope like an adult at all. good job, alvin.]

[there's really only so long he can go avoiding interacting with people (read: not very long at all in a confined space), but alvin's still in flight mode for a good portion of the morning. he's expecting blame and fingers pointed at him for how the vote went—not that he'd blame anyone for it, but for a guy who is actually resolved to trying to do the right thing...
well, it sucks. and he's so used to even his best intentions being misplaced that he can't even say he's surprised.
in any case, even with flight mode on, he still wants to get a good look at the new scenery—with the hopes he'll be alone for a bit in checking it all out.
not to be the case though, because as he makes his way into the tech lab, he realizes he's not alone, and that guy is already in there.
welp.]
Oh, uh... didn't realize anyone was in here already. [he's pretty ready to turn heel, but that would be too easy, wouldn't it?]
