[there's really only so long he can go avoiding interacting with people (read: not very long at all in a confined space), but alvin's still in flight mode for a good portion of the morning. he's expecting blame and fingers pointed at him for how the vote went—not that he'd blame anyone for it, but for a guy who is actually resolved to trying to do the right thing...
well, it sucks. and he's so used to even his best intentions being misplaced that he can't even say he's surprised.
in any case, even with flight mode on, he still wants to get a good look at the new scenery—with the hopes he'll be alone for a bit in checking it all out.
not to be the case though, because as he makes his way into the tech lab, he realizes he's not alone, and that guy is already in there.
